    Hi All

I bought an unfinshed house and spent about 80k finishing the property this year. It had been built in 2008 and was a bank reposession.

Am i entitled to claim HRI relief on this cost ? The house wasnt lived in but isnt new either - any ideas ?

If the house was never lived in before I don't think it qualifies under the HRI scheme.

Even if it did qualify the contract must be registered by the contractor with Revenue before work commences. Revenue will then assign a reference to this contract. You cannot claim relief under the HRI just by submitting the invoices.
