    Hi folks,

I've been tipping away at the running for a while now and am looking to join a club for the first time to get some structure, run with a group, maybe get some coaching and also for the social aspect. I live in Ashtown and know the Civil Service Harriers run in the Phoenix Park - are they more advanced or do novice runners attend also? I suppose I can run 25 mins without stopping, about 6 min/km pace.

Any other info on good clubs for someone at this level much appreciated!

Hi, there are plenty of notice runners with Civil Service Harriers. It's a very friendly bunch too and there's a nice social side to things. Might be best to drop down at 6.45 on a Tuesday or Thursday to have a chat with the coaches. Pm me if you'd like more information.

To answer your question more broadly, donore harriers have a group for people in the novice bracket. They're based in Chapelizod. Liffey Valley may suit either but I'm not sure of Jim's approach to newer runners etc. Both good clubs.

Cheers for that - exactly the info I was looking for! If there are other novice runners in the mix that's grand...

Will look to pop up soon - thanks again :)
