Any opinions and what to look out for on a 08 Jag X Type 2.0 diesel, I don't need to hear about it being a blinged up Mondeo.

Pretty solid. Insist on a service history though, they don't tolerate neglect or slapdashery.

they are a souped down Mondeo...:D

My one broke my heart ,and only way to get rid was to reverse it to as close to fence in main dealers and kept fingers crossed he didnt look at exhaust and lift the bonnet (he didnt)..maybe that was a once off

i fell in love with the badge etc etc

rember they are a souped down mondeo

Yeah, a mate of mine blew a 2003 one up last year because he didn't have it serviced properly. Now he's driving around in a 5-Series of the same year like some sort of wild animal. :D

I have one, and I love it. It has a full service history though, and was fully checked by a mechanic before I bought it. Injectors seem to cause some hassle on them though, so might be worth asking.

Nothing really overly worrying about them as a proposition compared to any other diesel so it's DMF, injectors etc etc etc.

Launched in 2001 so if I was buying a 2008 one I would really be looking to ensure it's the facelifted one :)

Personally I'd look for a 2.2, not sure what the auto is like in them but presumably it can't be as bad as Audi's multitronic offering :pac:

Given the 2008 low tax bla bla bla I don't think a 2.2 facelift would be much more than a 2008 2.0.

Great cars for little over the price of a 2008 Golf petrol from a VW dealer.
