Korean Dental Qualifications good in Ireland?

Hi there - a friend of mine has sought my help to find out if her Dental Technician qualification from South Korea is sufficient for work here. Does anyone know or even who I would ask to find out? She says her quals are good for the US, Canada and New Zealand, but she is not sure about here. She would like to get into this line of work in Ireland if possible (and has visas, etc).

    Cheers!

Unless she wants to be a clinical technician, her qualifications will be fine. Most laboratories will carry out a skill test. No point in a well qualified technician thats not skilled, much better have a skilled technician that not qualified. Its not a register-able profession (accepting that clinical technicians are) so the qualifications dont matter.

Thanks for that I will pass it on! She was wondering about dental hygienist too - I'm guessing that's the same as the technician?

No a hygienist works on patients and is subject to legislation, a technician makes false teeth and does not work on patients (except clinic technicians but thats another story).

So if she was qualified as a hygienist, would it be possible for her to work in this area or would she have to do a skills test (etc) - or would the qualification not be good at all? Just to be clear, as it seems she has a few strings to her bow but maybe not a lot of experience.
