    Hi Folks,

Having spotted a leak on the public street, I logged a call online on 1st October, got e-mail confirmation but no reference number was on the mail. The water is still leaking and I'm wondering how to follow up on this call without a reference?

    Thanks
    Wise Old Elf

So...we don't want to know WiseOldElf's name and phone number but it would be interesting to know how IW deals with leaks in public roads. There would be absolutely no data risk discussing a leak in a road, other than the name and address of the reporting member of the public, which we don't want to know. Why so secretive?

As the matter was already highlighted to Irish Water I would need specific information provided when initially raised, in order to investigate this matter further.

However if a leak does occur on a public road, there are various methods customers can use to alert Irish Water, such as calling 1890 278 278, @IWCare or Report A Leak on www.water.ie. For a full list of our contact methods please see here.

If we receive a report of a leak, we will then liaise with the relevant local Water Department in order to have this matter investigated further.

I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact us with any other queries you may have.

    Kind regards,
    Niall
