Hello I am thinking of opening up a playschool/montessori school and need some advice not about regulations or anything like that as I know this information but rather about small business grants how I go about it I have found the perfect building as it was already this type of business before me but financially I would need help for example rates and rent just basically getting started would appreciate any feedback on this or has anyone any first hand experience with it.

    Many thanks
    Trish.

    Hi Trish,

I am in the same boat myself and just wondered if you got any more info on it? My understanding is that in order to operate from a rented property and make any kind of profit after rent and rates etc, you would need to have a substantial amount of children (20 or so) Would your premises allow for this?

You can work out income based on ECCE rates.(€73 or €62.50 over 38 weeks @ratio of 1:11)

some of these links might help -

Insurance is the other large cost that you need to factor in.
