Hey guys I have been checking back on Argos every day for the last few days, after missing out on their last few deals (out of stock on all ps4's in my area)
Today it looks like their latest deal is out "Ps4 500GB with Uncharted for €353.99."
This is in perfect time for my son's Birthday,
Just one question would this be the latest ps4 Model?

Could even always sell game for 50 on adverts.

I think they have released a ps4 with 1TB hard drive. But it still looks like a good deal.

You might be better off putting that €45 towards a 2tb hard drive

Just one question would this be the latest ps4 Model?

From what I've seen on this thread all the Argos PS4s are the new model.

The model number is on the box so you can check without opening it.

CUH-1216A is the newer 500Gb model

CUH-1216B is the newer 1Tb model

Advice is to stay away from the 1tb model for now, they're using the drive to shift the old model of the ps4, which is a lot more power hungry.

Would like to know if this is the new 500gb model though...

    Hey all,
I have my PS3 and it's still going strong but just wondering what is the benefit of having a 1TB drive over a 500GB drive in the PS4? Is it so that you can have more games installed to the HDD etc.?

PS: Does the PS4 play .MKV files natively?

    Cheers,
    M

The one thing that's putting me off the PS4 is it seemingly can only stream mkv's, you can't copy them to the drive as with the PS3, which is pretty annoying. Was one of the most used features on my PS3.

Same here, I always used my PS3 to watch MKV files as they are the most common format!

We picked up a 1Tb a couple of weeks ago and it's the new model. Other boardsies are the same so absolutely no reason to avoid the 1Tb model.

As per my earlier post it's very easy to check in any case.

PS4 can play a lot of media including MKV from USB sticks since June.

Me too. Argos should definitely have the new models in both versions.

Slightly off topic, but most of the files try to play on the media player I get a message saying it cannot play the media. Would there be any reason for this? I've tried a few different formats and I get this for most of them. I'm not playing them from a usb, they're on a NAS drive.

Make sure the format of both the video and audio (this is where people get caught) match the compatible ones listed here. Older audio formats like Vorbis and .ogg are not supported, nor are 10-bit encodes.
