    Hi guys,
I want to change my radio from single din to double din.
As far as I can see I have 2 choices, cut the horizontal piece of the facia under the current radio or replace the whole facia.
    Any advise would be great.
    Thanks

Even if you cut a chunk out of your facia there might not be room behind for the body of the radio. Check before you start cutting holes.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the comment.
I'm pretty sure it'll fit. In most countries the car comes with a factory fitted double din radio and I removed radio recently and there's plenty of room behind it.
It looks like in Ireland they stuck in a single din unit to save money.
I think bar cutting the facia the only other option is to get a second hand one from the UK.
I was hoping somebody had done this before me.

In some markets, they come with double size integrated stereo. bigger than double DIN.

You have this one I guess

The box under the stereo which also surrounds the single DIN stereo is just bolted in.

You will need a double DIN adaptor. You can get them on ebay handy enough.

Ok, looks like they just made a single din sized panel with a pocket in it & fitted a smaller radio.

If you had the factory fitted double-din radio & wanted to fit an aftermarket double-din radio there'd be a facia panel available to bring it down to size. Contact your local car radio installation shop about getting a double-din fitting kit for your car. It'll look much better & fit much better than cutting your current panel, & if you want to change it back to stock when you sell the car it'll make it easier if the original radio panel doesn't have a chunk cut out of it.
