Would appreciate advice on the best places to visit/things to do for this Saturday/Sunday break in West Cork. Staying in Rosscarbery - so traveling down tomorrow friday and touring around Sat & Sunday. So will prob go west of Roscarbery mostly - schull, baltimore etc.. maybe visit some islands, do some walking etc - anybody recommend a good itinerary for the trip so I get the most of the two days. Thanks

-eat your way round - roscarbery has at least one good restauraunt - skibb market on Saturday get a picnic head to Baltimore - do a whale watch tour - (if it's still running in oct ) - lough hyne (climb the hill behind it - Mary Anne's in castletownsend -
Head towards balledehob /Schull - walk up mount Gabriel - crook haven for lunch - stroll on barley cove - on to mizzen -
Or none of the above - there's a newish arts centre in skibb - there's a famine centre (never been) - there's a cool ring fort and fulacht fia near roscarbery as well -
    That'll get you started

You hope to do all the suggestions on Saturday? You'll be exhausted by Sunday so I suggest you rest after the marathon day before

For walking, look into gougane barra and glengarriff woods, if you want to go that far west. :)

If your out glandore direction head to union hall and check out Rineen woods. Theres a walk thru the forrest with fairy houses scattered around. Their not in the best condition anymore but worth seeing and the walk is really nice, try to time it around high tide as its a little nicer then, 5ish today, 6ish tomorrow(sunday) but 90 mins either side of it is good. Not worth travelling from ross to see unless theres young kids but if in the area anyway its a good way to pass an hour.
