This is the first smart watch I would consider buying. I just had a web chat with a Samsung rep who told me it will be launching here at the end of the month - no info on pricing. Luckily my sister is going to Vegas soon so I can always get her to pick me up if it's too expensive here.

Does anyone know if this is available in Ireland yet? I would like to get a look at one in Dublin as my sister is going to Vegas on Thursday.

Well got my gear s2 today. So far I'm very impressed. Great build quality, the rotating bezel feels really premium and it's neat enough to pass for a normal watch unlike the Apple watch which is like having a shrunken original iphone strapped to your wrist. Everything works flawlessly with my oneplus one too. Always on display is a great feature. Limited selection of apps on the Tizen store but all the basics are catered for.

Where did you buy it and does svoice suck on it ?

My sister bought it for me in the US for $320. Haven't checked svoice - not really into voice control in general.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but couldn't find anywhere more suitable to ask this and didn't want to start a new thread.

Has anyone with the Gear S2 purchased a new strap for it? They are rarer than hen's teeth from what i can see.
I have the regular Gear s2 not the classic (which i believe has normal strap connectors)

The supplied straps are sh*te - all mine broke where they join with the connector. I managed to track another original strap on eBay - sorry I did because it broke too :( I reckon the tpu they use is too stiff to conform to the average wrist which places too much strain on the strap/connector junction.

Anyway there's loads of straps on aliexpress. As always delivery is very slow - about a month! I got a blue one more than six months ago - still going strong. It's silicone so much softer than the orginal and a little bit of a dust magnet but very pleased with it overall. The buckle is shiny chrome but it's easy to swap it for the orginal.

I'm using it with a oneplus 3 (oneplus one before that) - works grand. Great watch apart from flimsy strap G see my post above (there's a long thread on XDA forums about this issue)

I've been using mine with the S7 edge since it came out. Really works well. Great smartwatch and i think if the next one has slightly bigger screen and GPS i'll be all over it.

I wish i had gotten the classic i ended up wiht the regular s2 after black friday got a great deal i couldn't turn down. GPS would be great on the next iteration alright. AFAIK the s2 seems to work well with all android phones. Apple though have very basic notifcations
