I have been referred by my GP to a Private Clinic.

I do not have Private health Insurance.

Can anyone advise on the fee for an initial consultation as I have no idea what to expect.

    Many thanks

Give the consultant's private secretary a ring. They should be able to outline the fee structure for you.

Give the clinic a call. Consultants have their own fee structures so it's hard for anyone else to say. I work in a private clinic and the average fee for a first consultation is €200, it depends on length. Insurance wouldn't cover it anyway since they don't do direct cover for outpatient appointments. Fees are a query we get all the time and happy to answer.

Evening Anspinc, with health insurance the consultants fee isnt covered - only scans/procedures. My experience with Beaumont is a fee of 150 euro plus vat.

    Not exactly correct
fee not covered up front bur may be recoverable as part of outpatient claim if you reach the excess on your policy

Beest options phone the secretary range for consultations in various specialties without asking you too many details can be from €120 - 300 depending on who where etc
