Urgent Laptop Screen Replacement

    Hey,

The screen on my husbands Toshiba Satellite laptop seems to be cracked on the inside-we're not sure, it was turned on and the screen is gone with a long line across.
He needs it fixed pretty quick as he lectures and has to record lectures asap and all his notes and programmes are on it.
We're based in Dublin-any idea where I could take it to get it fixed or how long it might take?

    Thanks,

    Caroline

Any IT repair shop should b able to do it but will have to order in the part.

I normally just order from http://accupart.co.uk/ and fit it myself in 15 minutes. If you're unsure how to do it just look at youtube.

Accupart ship fairly quickly and its done at a fraction of the cost.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Is it easy enough to fit it yourself once you get the part?

I was going to maybe try these guys tomorrow (just need it fixed asap but worried about the cost!)

Would you know anything about them?

    Thank you!

Its very easy to fit. Its just a case of taking off the bezel. Undo a few screws and pull out the video cable very gently.
I did one last week in 10 minutes. You tube will show you what to do.
I was able to get their couriered service to parcel motel and had it 2 days after ordering.
They have a cut off time for same day delivery.

IT Rollout in Dublin are an official Toshiba repairer... maybe they have a screen in stock... could be a bit more expensive but worth checking at least.

Thanks a mill for that bmay529.

I didn't have time to order online as I needed it fixed asap (but thanks for the suggestion tatranska). I went to Lynch repair in Temple Bar at 10am yesterday morning and it was ready by 1pm. It cost €150 but was happy to pay for it with service like that.

That's great and a good price from my experience also.
