    Does anyone remember this proposal? If you attracted foreign companies into the country that employed more than x workers, the government would pay you a hefty 'finders fee' type payment.

    Did it ever happen?

    If I bombard [insert american fast food joint that hipstery types love] with emails to locate here, can I apply for a heafy fee when they open their first outlet?

    Yeah, I think so. Certainly in Dublin airport there werel/are loads of stands with people handing out leaflets about getting business partners to set up in Ireland.

    There are some examples on their website, bottom right, though as it's a government scheme I wouldn't expect too much transparency
