Galaxy Tablet not charging

    Hi guys,

My daughter's Galaxy Tablet was left for a couple of weeks without charging and now it wont turn on, wont charge and no fix I can find online seems to work.

I have opened up the back and disconnected the wires from the battery for 30 seconds and put it back together but no joy

I have tried all the combinations of holding down the buttons but still, no joy.

Is it completely drained for good now or is there any other way of sparking it back to life?

    Thanks

How long did you leave it on charge for?

    about 3/4 hours

When it is plugged in, there is no sign that is responding (no red light, no charging screen)

I'd leave it on for at least 12 hours. Has happened to me a couple of times, Samsung and Asus. They can be revived in my experience, but it does take time.

Either the Tab is n't taking a charge or the plug isn't charging the Tab. Would help to figure out which on is causing this.

Maybe try a different cable or possibly try and plugging it into a PC. Might be worth using a different charging block if possible too.

Check the pins aren't bent in the charging port. Does the cable fit snugly or is there any wiggle room?

Known fault with these is that if they go below a certain charge that they need the proper cable to recharge. your current cable may be damaged or did you replace with a generic one at some stage?

Also, what are you trying to charge it from? might need to have a higher mA

I found that if I charged my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from a extension lead/multi adapter it would trickle charge. the screen would light up but it wouldn't get past the battery charging symbol. Needed to charge it from the wall socket to get it to take a charge properly.

    I found the same.

What appears to work if it is not charging is to unplug the cable from the Galaxy and then plug it back in. The device then shows - Charging 56% or some such.

Hi guys, just an update. I left it plugged in the wall overnight but still wouldn't turn on or even show signs of taking a charge.

The charging port is fine but the cable I am using isn't the original Samsung charger but is working (I checked it with my phone). Would ordering a replacement battery online be the way to go with this?
