Edenderry broadband puzzle

I'm in Edenderry and have a 3meg line with Eircom, €45 a month, broadband only. Now my friend who also lives in the town, less than a mile away, is on 100meg Fibre, pays the same as me, and has a landline also.

Is it normal for towns to be half running Fibre, for over a year, while the other half suffers from Poverty Spec broadband?

Also, there has been a green Fiber cabinet 100 yards from my house, sitting there for almost a year, yet no one in the estate has Fibre.

It certainly is normal for parts of towns to be enabled and others not.

It looks like there is a lot more than half of Edenderry covered by eir Fibre. Of the 13 cabs, 11 of them are live for eir Fibre. The exchange is also live.

If the cab you refer to that is 100 yards from your house is one of the blue ones in the attached, then you will just have to wait for them to finish it's implementation.

Yeah, cab close to me is a blue one. Wonder who I can contact to query completion.

    Thank for the info.
