My daughter had a part time job while she was in college.
She went to USA on a J1 for three months.
On returning she recommenced her part time job.
Her employer has told her revenue has put her on emergency tax till end December?
    Dose'nt sound right to me!
Does working away for 3 months in any way affect your tax here?

Get her to ring revenue. Being in US shouldn't have any affect.

I have seen a few students put on no tax credits over the last few weeks and I reckon there is a glitch in the system somewhere.

She will likely owe PAYE on whatever she earned while on J1, so yes.

I don't think that's the issue you are having here, but it's an answer to your question.

She's liable to Irish tax on her worldwide income (unless she's not Irish domiciled)
