Ok so I posted here before about going for 7 seater SUV and really had made up my mind to go with X-Trail. It is to replace a Qashqai.

I seen 1 or 2 Prius+ in the last few weeks around the city and was interested as I had never seen or heard anything about them. Had a look the other day and they are nice, seem fairly big and automatic which is great. I have budget of circa 35k and going new.

Just wondering has anyone any feedback on them as they seem quite new to Irish market, I think they where available in UK before....

Any feedback? What is average people are seeing in terms of MPG even on standard Prius

we have an ev forum, people would knkw about what improvements the new model might have.

mechanically there should be no problem as the standard prius and Lexus ct use the same drivetrain for years.

On the face of it, they are an interesting alternative particularly for low mileage users. Unfortunately the UK reviews (performance, refinement, practicality) are pretty bad so I didn't look at them any further.

UK reviews rarely favour Japanese cars.

I am interested in the Prius plus aswell. Do about 20 k km a year with plenty of short trips. Will need a 7 seater soon and most are diesels. Would it be worth going to UK as I want leather and am I right in thinking the vrt will be low due to emissions ?

Good question, no idea....I really need to post on the hybrid forum as they might have better idea there....

I had one for a test drive last year. Currently have a Verso and the finish of the Prius + was poor in comparison (and I don't rate the Verso that highly). I'm assuming it's based on the Verso chassis as they were very similar space wise (so not a full time 7 seater).

Fisher price plastics, blandest of grey everywhere, performance was dismal too (I know it's a hybrid, but even still). Attempting an overtake consisted of flooring it, causing the engine revs to rise to an uncomfortable level without the car noticeably increasing in speed. It has the same engine as the standard Prius but is obviously substantially heavier which will have a bearing on performance and economy.

We kept the Verso for another year and are looking again now. Hope to try the Outlander PHEV soon. Not a 7 seater but should tick the boxes for me.
