I'm looking at buying a 161 Kia Sorrento, I was looking at the platinum manual model with metallic paint rrp is €44500.

I will be buying cash no trade in and straight away he dropped the price to €43k

I know the dealer has more wiggle room but how much can I expect to haggle off, I appreciate he has to make a profit

I just wanted an idea before I go back in as to what I can expect

You really need to go to more than one dealer and play them off each other for the best price.

I go to 3 dealers minimum and don't be afraid to travel. I've bought lots of new cars down the country even though I live in Dublin.

We were told 44 or 45 cash for the automatic from one dealer. Haven't gone any farther as were having no luck in getting a test drive. Kia dealers haven't exactly impressed me so far.

I get calling to a few different dealers but are they not all working off the same profit margin, can there really be that much difference between what they will take.

€45k for the automatic isn't that like nearly €5K off the list price, could you really expect that much

Maybe there would be more room if you had another model lined up at similar or better rate. Say an Xtrail.

New sportage due next year so they prob expecting big sales there.

Sorrento is a bit bigger than an X-Trail or Sportage though. Santa Fe is really a competitor (and mechanically identical) to the Sorrento.
