failure to deliver a package

Hi all. I paid a parcel delivery company to collect a package and deliver to England, something I've done a dozen times with no issues. I paid for a large screen tv to be sent over and it was collected on the 23rd of last month. Normally, it takes 2\3 working days but its been over 10 days now and i haven't heard a peep. My tracking number says it never left the depot, and the company say they don't know what's happening and will investigate. I have a nasty feeling its gone missing and am wondering what's the best route? How do I approach this with them? Who do I complain to? Should I get a solictors letter?

Do you have insurance for the shipping? What are the terms and conditions of the shipping, that you agreed to when you took out the contract with them?

It may be a case that you are due the shipping fee back, since they failed to deliver the item, but without insurance they may not be liable for the cost of the TV.

Check your documentation and the terms and conditions of shipping.

You'd have to wonder how the hell they managed to 'lose' a large TV though...

A lot of people online are having the same complaint. Smells of a scam?
