Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign and "Apartheid"

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Movement use the word “Apartheid” frequently in relation to Israel/Palestine (twice this week alone).

They are drawing parallels between Israel and South Africa, saying that Palestinian Arabs suffer as much as black South Africans did under Apertheid.

This is not a universal view among either Palestinians or black South Africans.

Bassem Eid, a Palestinian born in the West Bank, founded the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group. He is critical of groups in Western countries exacerbating the situation and displaying ignorance of the facts, particularly through boycotts, which he thinks badly hurt the Palestinian economy.
I am a proud Palestinian. I want peace and prosperity for my people. I want an end to the misery and destruction. The anti-Semitism promoted by... the BDS movement is not the answer. We can live in peace with Israel and the Jews.

Similarly, some black South African MPs who lived through Apartheid, like Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, think the analogy between South Africa and Israel is false.
I am shocked by the claim that the free, diverse, democratic state of Israel practices apartheid.

This ridiculous accusation trivializes the word apartheid, minimizing and belittling the magnitude of the racism and suffering endured by South Africans of color.

There are several other prominent Palestinian Arabs who, likewise, reject the term "Apartheid" when it comes to Israel:
    • Walid Shoebat
    • Mudar Zahran
    • Mudar Zahran
    • Mosab Hassan Yousef
    • Mohammad Zoabi
    • Lucy Aharish
    • Khaled Abu Toameh
    • Jonathan Elkhoury
    • John Calvin
    • George Deek
    • Gabriel Naddaf
    • Christy Anastas
    • Anet Haskia
    • Ghassan Alian
    • Ali Salam
    • Jamal Hcrosh
    • Salim Joubran
    • Massad Barhoum
    • Ahmad Tibi
    • Jacob Hanna
    • Taiseer Elias

Really, is it time we stopped listening to a group like the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, mainly comprised of Westerners who have never lived in the region, and whose opinions have been rebuked by people who are from the region?

The transferred loyalty of the pro-Israeli Irish is hilarious. It's a dual mind colonisation. There are American right wing/ nationalists who adopt Israeli nationalism and Irish right wingers who adopt both.

Israel is a middle Eastern country. It's not European, that's their own claim, or they would have no business being there.

The real problem is how it's existence and it's American alliances has destabilised the region and affected the far greater cultures and civilisations of Europe.

Police Academy 4 is on, always thought it was the best of the franchise despite being panned by the critics.

The thing that both annoys me and disappoints me in equal measure is that none of these so called Palestinian "solidarity" supporters give a flying fcuk about Palestinian people unless it's the IDF/State of Israel involved.

I'm not making apologies for anyone here, but has anyone here purporting to be a supporter of a Free Palestine ever once looked into their treatment in Egypt? How about Lebanon or Jordan? If you think these people are treated badly (and they are!) why do you think this treatment exists solely within Israel/Gaza/West bank?

Why do people think the mistreatment of Palestinians started with the creation of Israel? If Israel disappears will Palestine be "free"? Doubt it
