It's relatively difficult to value this car given such low mileage, but how much would a MK4 2001 1.4 Golf (NCT'd) be worth with 5,000 miles in a deep blue colour roughly?

Interior and exterior are practically brand new and car has been garaged for the majority of it's life

Ask €1500, see how it goes? It may be a bit fresher in terms of cosmetic wear and tear but lying up poses as many issues as high mileage. It probably needs tyres and timing belt etc.

Sure you'd ask €1500 If it has 100000 miles on it
I know it's only 1.4 but surely it's worth more than that to someone.

Very difficult to pinpoint a figure to put on it. Seeing as it hasn't even been run in yet, I'd be of the view that it could fetch quite substantially more than a knackered one of the same age. Like tfb says above, age related items need to be taken into consideration, but nonetheless.

Can we see a few pics, I'm sure it's mint tidy. It's been a while since I've seen a mk4 golf that looks like new!

I'm going to detail it within the next week or two and will PM you pictures once it's done. I'd literally eat my dinner off the engine bay it's spotless

I would think VW themselves would be interested in a car like that....

From previous experience of looking for a Golf of a similar vintage for my son a few years back, those things sell themselves, the novelty value of your one alone would make it a very easy sell...
My only concern would be how long it's been left without starting the engine, the car itself might be showroom new but the engine could have corrosion issues and a lot of the rubber could have deteriorated on things like hoses and brakes etc.
Could be a nice project for someone with a donor engine looking for a good chassis to put it in...

What spec Golf is it? Comfortline or less?

The biggest problem is the fact that it's one of the least wanted models. If it were a GTi with that mileage you'd be winning!
It'll be hard to sell for anything much over the normal asking price I'd say, only some people would be interested. Throw up some pics anyway.

    That's what I reckon.

If it's a 5dr baseline model in silver, it's just an asthetically pleasing example of a hateful car that still needs a mountain of work.

Maybe something like a 3dr comfortline in black might make marginally more than a similar model with 100k but even at that, not a huge amount.
