Surely you have him running sub 40 by now :) Blame the coach M.

    Might do this myself, 37:xx

You know that there isn't a 5km option, right?

    37:xx is not a fast 10k.

When is it on? Can seem to find any information online?

How about we turn this into a boardsie get together. It can serve as our Christmas drinks. Every second you are off your current PB costs you a euro. This goes into a pool to pay for drinks. So Tunney running 39:??, with a PB of 31:01, would end up contributing €480 plus.

    Any takers?

Was implying that 37 was a good 5km for you. One of my classic side splitting jokes

Revising me to what it would have been had it been an accurate course. Not a chance I'll break 39 this year so I am out

My time would cost me roughly what it would cost for a week in the sun with Javier Gomez hired to privately coach me.

    Nope

Forget about PBs for the moment, but do people want to use it as a warm up to drinks later in the day?

I'm sure we could come up with another way of footing the drinks bill.

We could always beat you up and take your money to pay for the drinks:) I would be up for a few drinks after.

We need a standing fund for transatlantic flights Carol... there will be a bottomless glass of Chardonnay on standby.

    I like this idea.

We can all get rat faced from the sidelines while cheering Tunney & Kurt on. We'll have live Facetiming, Tweeting, Boards updates, Periscope and Facebook all going on, it will have more live coverage than the Superbowl. We could sell advertising space to pay for the flights too!! :D

Entries are open now, €20, 10am race start.

How will the drinks afterwards work zico? Lunchtime pints with a bit of grub, or wait till later in the day/evening (when Tunney will have finished)?

Hopefully I'll be there Kurt. I'm sort of in Limbo at the moment as regards residence though. My participation in both the race and session afterwards will very much depend on where I end up living.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,435 ✭✭✭joey100

Just entered this, I see some where else I have a 37 beside my name for finish time. Not sure I'm that confident though, a low 38 would be great.

I'm about to register for this. The race itself is secondary to a possible TDAR session. Now that the day is nearly upon us, is anybody on for meeting up for drinks afterwards?

Only 50/50 on actually doing the race myself; and much less likely on a session. Sorry zico, nothing would give me better pleasure than drunkenly giving swim advice while you're trying to hit on some young one, but the Tinahely Tri party is the night before so my arm will be too sore from showing EVF all night long to anyone who will listen...

Are you saying zico was hitting on me? ;) And....EVF? All that pops up when I google that is "electronic viewfinder."

To paraphrase Rajesh Koothrappali, if I was hitting on you, you would have known it because you would have felt uncomfortable and a little sad for me.

    What? No Kurt/Tunney showdown? :(
