Graduate positions - "Expected 2.1"

I am in my final year of college (the only year that counts toward my degree grade) and I am planning on applying to various graduate positions. Most of these have a requirement of a 2.1 or an "expected 2.1". My last exam results I received a 2.2, although I do expect to get a 2.1 in my final year. So should I tick the requirement of "expected 2.1" or is saying that when you have a 2.2 so far a complete lie?

You shouldn't be expecting a 2.1 is you haven't achieved it so far. However, what's to lose? Go for it. It might even motivate you to get a better grade.

The only peril of doing this is that the offer might be conditional on you getting the 2.1- ie if you get the 2.2 they won't honour the job offer when you have graduated. This could happen if they sponsor their graduates to do further education like a masters that requires minimum 2.1 to enter. However, it's not a bit jump from 2.2 to 2.1 so apply and work double hard this year!!
