Ryanair App - Checking In

Have not used the Ryanair App yet, but previously made a booking for me and a friend. If I try to check in with the Ryanair App for the two of us, does that mean the two boarding passes will be on my phone?

Is the only option to give him the reservation number and flight details and just check himself in so he has the boarding pass on his own phone?

    Thanks

I usually just take a screenshot of their boarding pass and send it to them via text or email.

Can second this, I usually use the screenshot even if I'm alone so I don't have to depend on the app.
