Is it unusual to have this many bikes that you don't use anymore and are selling?

I guess the description is just a marketing trick to hide that he's a mass used bike reseller.

You get a lot of people who are constantly buying and selling stuff on various sites and auctions either as a sideline or as their primary source of income. While this is typically legit, if you've any niggles about a seller or item, look for proof of ownership before buying, as there are stolen goods out there too. Rule of thumb is that if the price seems too good to be true, it most probably is.

I just came across it when looking at fixies for sale. Seemed like he had a high turnover of bikes. But then maybe he's just passionate about bikes and constantly buying and selling.

Mod note: We cannot speculate about sellers on adverts. If you have doubts about a seller notify adverts and/or the guards

I used to do a bit of buying and selling of mountain bikes, some i'd buy to strip some parts off, and sell it with stuff I had laying around on them, others i'd fix up and sell on, unfortunately a lot I hoarded and it took ages to get rid of some of it. It was more of a hobby than a business, I enjoyed tinkering with bikes, tried all sorts of bikes in various set ups, and it basically kept funding it's self. I also ended up with a few bikes that had full XTR group sets from swapping bits over

If you're worried about buying something and you're trying to suss out the seller to see if it is stolen, ask a few technical questions, like the number of teeth on the cassette, the damper in the fork, or the type of group set. A lot of people would have a good knowledge of the stuff on their bike. The stolen ones you'd get some lad telling you it has 27 gears and he has barely used it, couldn't tell you where he bought it
