FIS Query

Hi guys, had a quick search but no joy.
I have started a new job lately and I was advised by a colleague to apply for FIS. I get paid weekly and my partner is claiming JSA which is means tested. We have two kids. Our combined income is €560 (390+170) so I understand that it falls under the €602 for couple and 2 kids.
My question is, on the citizens information site it mentions that my partner can no longer claim for a qualified adult. What way would her JSA be calculated so? Would it be 188+29.8+29.8 for herself and the kids less my means from work?
If so I would be losing out by claiming FIS yeah? (390+55+99)

    Does this make sense?

Your partner is not getting anything for a qualified adult atm.(I am presuming that you have been means tested for the €170)if that is the case you will be able to get €360+€170+aprox €24 (fis)

I am under the impression that my partner is getting something for a qualified adult. The 170 is means tested. Means on my wages of 390 is 190. Her 170 is calculated 372(188+124+29+29) less my means.

Means is always tested against the max payment you would get if you were unemployed.

Tubberadora just to clarify your partner is indeed getting a qualified adult payment. What happens when you apply for FIS is that her income from JSA is assessed but her JSA is revised... eg. she loses the ADA and only get half rate for children but means from your earnings are also halved. Go ahead and apply for FIS... the Dept will let you know which if possibly both are financially better for you.
