How efficient is Dublin T1 security these day? I have an early morning flight. Bus will be dropping me outside t1 at 7.15. Flight at 8.05.

    Will I be through comfortably?

I wouldn't imagine so. Even if everything goes well that's still a very tight window.

Depends on the day, Monday mornings that would be peak business travel, so be about your business, get in the Queue, be compliant, etc!

I wouldn't think that leaves enough time at all. What time does your flight board and the gate close?
Got stuck behind a Romanian family once, about 9 or 10 of them, it was as if they had they're bags full of of every prohibited item on the list. I had to run once I got through.

Ok I am convinced. Look like I am driving so and forgetting the bus.

Better off in my own hands!

What does it say on you terms for travel? Usual 2 hrs, no? Less than one hr is crazy

For flights up to I would always allow at least 105 minutes minimum due to the large volume of flights departing.

It's the busiest time of the day for the airport.

Outside of that window, usually 75 minutes is reasonable enough, but never less than that.

It's a flight to the UK. Check in is done! If it was Shannon airport I would be happy with the timeline as I am familiar with walking distances and security etc.

Too tight, you would want to give about 45 mins for security, some people who will be in the Q will take ages and be unfamiliar with the liquid ban, knife ban etc.. then another 10-15 to walk to gate and then say half an hour before take off time.

Another thing to remember is that if you're going with Ryanair, you normally need to factor in about 20min just to walk to the gate. They almost always fly from gates 101-115, which are the furthest from security.

As someone who started a similar thread recently but in relation to Shannon instead of Dublin, my advise would be that it isn't enough time.
I may have forked out a lot extra for a taxi to get to the airport early but it was worth it for the piece of mind as you can just never predict what the airport will be like.
For instance on my return flight from Berlin-Schonefeld to Shannon, I arrived at the airport with at least 2 hours to spare but there was the longest queue I ever encountered for security and that took 45 minutes to clear plus a very long walk to the gate that spanned two different terminals.
So yeah you just never know.

Not a hope in hell should you be chancing that timeline in T1. Security has been known to be 20 mins plus.. the walk to your gate may be the same.. factoring in the new layout of the loop where you have no choice but to battle through people in the shops to actually get out of the retail jungle and on your way to your gate...

Nearly one hour waiting to clear security at T1 on Monday. They need to open more check throughs.

I am the type of person that likes to push it and get there last minute. But less than 1 hour is not enough to get through comfortably. But in saying that, I got dropped off 15 minutes before a flight one time, made it to the gate with about 5 seconds to go :) But I don't think I have ever sweat as much in my life. Felt sorry for the poor fella sitting beside me.

Probably worth taking a different option to get to the airport 10 or 15mins earlier....if you arrive an hour before take-off you'll be fine.

I have found myself caught out a few times with Ryanair closing the gate maybe 5-10 minutes before scheduled take-off time.....I can never see the reason for this as the plane will be just sitting outside for another 20mins without moving. I think it's to teach passengers to be on time.
