Fixing MacBook Pro charger

27-09-2015 12:20pm#1I have had my MacBook for 7 years and yesterday my third charger broke from wear on the cable. I think this is ridiculous considering how expensive they are but it is what it is.
It still works when I put pressure on the broken end so was wondering what is the best way to fix it. One of my house mates has a soldering iron so would this be the best option?
