Court Fine

I have been informed I will have a charge against me for a minor offence struck out if I can pay an addtional 300 to charity (already paid 500 compensation to injured party and similar in solicitor fees).
I want to get the case struck out but I am also having financial difficulties at the moment and like many my salary is eaten up down to the last few euros. I can only afford to partially pay by the due date.
What would happen if I turned up in court with only half the money and asked for more time?
Is there even a way to get an extension before the court case is due in November? Thanks
