Airbag Light Problem

    Hi guys,

    Asking on behalf of a friend.

    He has an 07 Landrover Freelander 2 with the following issue;

    The passenger airbag light which is located over the rearview mirror is showing "off", there is a switch you can turn on or off with the emergency key and this will not turn on the airbag light.

    He removed the switch and he took out the plug in leads which are coloured yellow, green and black.

    The yellow and green leads has voltage on both of them.

    He wants to know is it possible to bridge one of the coloured leads with the black one - would this turn the passenger airbag back on?

    The passenger airbag does not need to be turned off as there will never be any child seats in the front passenger seat. He would like the passenger airbag turned on at all times.

    He is afraid if we wires it up the wrong way he may damage the actual airbag mechanism.

    Any replies appreciated.

    Thanks all! :)

    I would advise him to be extremely careful touching or probing any leads in the yellow sheaths associated with airbags on any cars. It is possible to set off the airbag if you don't know what you are doing.

    If he gets the car plugged into a computer he may find there is a problem with the airbag, airbag controller, or maybe the seatbelt receiver.

    Trying to bypass this could be a bad idea.

    Best of luck
