    Guys

Can anyone tell me the rough cost of these boilers, just the boiler alone.
I am considering converting from oil to gas and I'm getting silly prices.

    Baxi Megaflo 32kw
    Viessmann Vitodens 100 30kw
    Viessmann Vitodens 100 35kw

    Thanks a million

Viessmann for that size would be for a HUGE system. Probably around €1200 - 1400 for 30-35kw.
What are these silly prices you're getting?

Looking for €5,000 to convert from Kerosene to Calor Gas and upgrade the heating controls.

Already have TRVs on the rads and stats in each zone. All it is is to create a third zone for hot water.

Seems a simple enough job to me and €5,000 seems a bit over the top.

If anyone out there is able to do better then let me know. I'm based in Cavan.

Maybe the wiring has to be changed to incorporate boiler interlock? Does the price include new stats? A new timeclock? New cylinder? Powerflush? Magnetic filter??
Are they doing the job to seai spec so you can claim the grant ?

Have you a very big heating system? 35kw is a big boiler for a domestic house

Price is about right, average wage of plumber €2500 a week and materials.

Sounds oversized to be honest but I'd really have to see the system. I'd say a 24kw would do fine but as I said above I'd need to see it.
5,000 is a tad high but not by much. I'd be pricing around 4.5k mark

If it's a Viessmann on the 4 pipe connection method (the way it's supposed to be fitted) then it's over sized. A 26kW would be more than enough for it.
Also where is the boiler being located. If it's external from the house then it's possible the 4 pipe system can not be used and if that's the case then a 30kW would do.

Also does that include the ground works from the bulk tank to the point of entry?

Also Calor expect the installation to be installed to a standard taking all current RGI and building regulations into account.

Lol it most certainly is not my wage. I might take that in alright. But it's in one hand, out the other

    If only lol.

It's hard to size the boiler without seeing the house but the price is pretty much spot on taking into account the amount of work required to carry out the changeover, installing/replacing system controls and including digging and reinstating for the new gas line.

Also, I'd imagine Calors charge for delivery, commissioning and base for the tank is included in that price (€442 +vat) so Dtp1979's top of head estimate is bang on.

The price can be dropped down by using Calors free boiler offer (Vokera) but personally I'd prefer to use a higher quality boiler and have the free gas instead(same value)

P.S. Just in case, I'm not the contractor for OP but I have completed a lot of these jobs in the midlands area.

Bit off topic.. Is it worth switching from. Oil to gas? I'm looking to get a new oil boiler but have thought about making the switch to gas.. We'd have to get calor in as we're not near gas mains..
