My wife recently got a civic that has a small patch of lacquer starting to peel on the bonnet. Its fairly small but we want to stop it getting any worse.
Can i just buy a can of clear lacquer and give it a coat or 2 or is it something that a good valeter or even a spray painter would need to do?
Shes not too bothered on the cosmetic look of it once its done but just wants to ensure it doesnt travel,
It looks much bigger than it actually is in the pic.
Thanks for any advise ye might have.

If shes not worried about the cosmetic look, then, yes you could use a spray lacquer to prevent it getting any worse.
Mask off the area surrounding it with newspaper, ensure there are no loose bits, and that they area is dry. Give it a coat or two. Wont be perfect, but will prevent it worsening, or certainly slow the process down significantly.

But if you wanted it done right, its a full bonnet re-spray!
