Riello RDB Burner

Hey all, sorry in advance for any general ignorance here, I know nothing about heating.

We ran out of oil a couple of weeks ago, and it was not until today that we were able to get some more. It's a rented property, and the burner is outside at the opposite side of the garden from the oil tank (Which now has 500L in it). Tried switching on the timer in the kitchen this morning to turn on the heating, but after a couple of hours when I came back, there was no hot water etc.

I opened up the heater unit outside, it's a Riello RDB burner inside in it. I assumed it needed to be bled due to an air lock from not having oil. Popped off the cover, turned the bleed valve, oil comes out in a solid flow with no bubbles.

Now, the whole burner unit is completely silent (before I even started it was like this), there are no lights on it (I assume, from what I read online, that if it was air locked, the reset button would be lit up). Pressing the reset button does nothing. The light on the timer, inside the house does come on when the heating is switched on there. I don't know where the power switch is for the burner (There does not appear to be one in the outside unit), but I have checked the trip switch inside the house, and it's not tripped or anything.

I have emailed the letting agent, but I likely won't get a reply from them until Monday, and the other half is nagging about the cold, so I'm wondering is there anything stupid that I'm after missing that won't result in me blowing my hands off or anything :P

    Thanks in advance.

May be the high limit stat, beside the knob on the boiler thermostat dial. Post a pic of the area that is revealed when you remove the boiler door.

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread but basically the same issue as poster so maybe easier to help at same time.

I've just moved in and landlord hasn't a clue how to restart boiler, i'd prefer to do myself rather than getting a call out. He said it had been working when builders were here before we moved in but seems dead at moment to me.

Three pics attached. I'm assuming the valve to the left of the burner is the bleed valve. There's no light on the red reset button. Heating is on according to the control panel inside the house. What should I try to do?

In picture a/,this is not the bleed valve,Its for draining water out of your system,do not touch this valve
It seems like their could be no power going to the burner,
    what you can check
In pic 2, ensure that the white button in pressed in beside the thermostat dial,
If their is a room thermostat in the house ensure that it is turned up
ps.the landlord should be getting the boiler serviced and not leaving it to you

I popped the red cover and bled the oil. Seems to run pretty freely.
The white button can be pressed in but doesn't stay pressed, you'd have to hold it.
Thermostat is turned up inside also.
