General Job Hunting queries

I thought this would be good idea, because I'm sure there's similar people to me, who are applying for jobs or looking to change careers. Often I find myself in a position where I would like to know a general query, but can't find an answer.

    So---

I'll start the ball rolling with:

Should you follow up on job applications? If so, how long should you leave it before doing so?

Others will disagree but I wouldn't/don't.

If I get no call back, I assume I haven't made the grade and move on.

Same goes for recruitment agencies, if you don't hear from them - they are not interested.
