Nintendo 2DS

Looking at getting a couple of these for my 2 sons ~(4 + 6). Do the 3DS games work on the 2DS? I don't want to fork out on the 3d version as I know the 3d isn't good for their eyes till they are 7 or 8. All the games seem to be for the 3DS model though. Help, I haven't a clue and my other half is worse, lol

The 2DS is exactly the same as a 3DS, it just doesn't have the 3D functions, so all the same games would work on it.

Just make sure not to get any marked as "New 3DS only", as those would only work on the newer model. (There's only been one so far I think)

The 3DS could also suit (so long as they don't abuse their stuff) as you can use the parental controls to completely disable the 3D functionality too.

Thanks Star Lord. Will definitely be going with the 2D version so, what with 2 to buy, I'd be broke, lol. Will make sure I dont get any "New 3DS only" ones. Plenty of other games for them to chose. Now to try and get a decent deal somewhere

Do they work in reverse? If I have a DS would the games such a Mario Bros and Mario Kart work on a 3DS?

Yes, DS games work on 3DS/2DS.
