    Hi,
just wondering if anybody can help with custom duties, how it is calculated.

shoes bought from us for 79.95 USD,
    delivery 18.00 USD
    total 97.95 USD

    customs
    customs etc 34.10 euros
    ups charges 14.50 euros
vat on ups charges 3.34 euros
    total 51.94

is it accurate, if not can i appeal it or any chance of getting money back...

    thanks

    Seems incorrect.

    google shows
    97.95 US Dollar equals
    87.83 Euro

23% is about €20.20 and this should be the VAT.

Does your UPS break down the values? did the invoice clearly show shipping costs. I think someone recently said about some courier that if the shipping cost is not listed they apply some standard rate, which of course is very high. Seems a right scam as no doubt there is some code they could use and check what it actually cost, as its their own company doing it.

People do have difficulty getting money back. It would be best to have the cost calculated in advance and deal with it at the time.

There is no duty if that is what you mean. Duty only kicks in at 150euro. It sounds like you were overcharged to me.

I called them and basically because there was no delivery charges mentioned on invoice, UPS calculated them on the bases how much it would cost me to post it to US which is 78 euros  , so it pushed valued above 150,,,,i hv email them invoice showing delivery charges and hoping to get 14+ euros back..

    Thanks
