Hi. looking for some pointers, if anyone has any first hand experience.

Our org has 2 boats. An inflatable, and a RIB. We need radio comms between crew-members, and from crew to shore. We used to have a RIB that had comms built into the helmets and you plug the helmet into the console of the boat, but the new boat doesnt have that facility . We still have the helmets though! Currently we have VHF base unit in each boat, and take a handheld for backup.

So looking for ideas that have actually worked, and the name of a guy / company that can supply / install without costing the earth.

We have thought about blu-tooth device on helmets with a receiver on the base unit. Also thought about waterproof handsets with earpiece. Would like to have solution that would allow crew to walk around boat, and possible leave boat (eg tie boat up on pier or walk 10 - 20m to investigate something on shore).

    thanks in advance!
