    Michael O Loughlin up shortly. I'm not sure he's quite as good as he was last year and the Americans have 2 really strong TT riders. Costa was 2nd last year as a first year but another first year Brandon McNulty looks a beast in all the Nations Cup races this year. Might be too good for them all.

    <snip>

    GORBUSHIN Ilya pulverising some of the quickest Juniors in the world. No palmares to know of but has a few DNFs this year in Nation Cup races. His TT'ing has been miles behind any of those he's raced today. Still the best riders to come of course.

    The elite womens was one of the best TTs I've seen. It had everything - someone putting in a very quick time early on, a real classy controlled ride from the winner, a gutsy fight from a runner up who looked more like a climber, near collapses at the finish and hardly anything separating the three podium places. More of this I say.

    Yeah i just watched the highlights and seemed like a real exciting one to watch live. Very little between them

    After Roche Vs Delgado and Lemond Vs Fignon for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it for all that the course looked a bit boring, the commentary was ok..... and I didn't know the women, I'll be honest.

    And even after all that it was still a great TT to watch.

    Commentary wasn't bad - I quite liked Dr. Hutch's geekiness.

    The course is not very pretty and the crowds weren't in evidence but the finish was hard (twice) so it meant time could be lost and gained in the last km. It's a power riders' course mainly but there's something there for the skinny lads and lasses too.

    I have been riding with Adrian Costa for a couple years (since he was about 15-16) while in the US. I have never seen a rider like him - incredible and his climbing is better than his TTing. I was actually surprised he was beaten.

    Random ride of his from when he was 16/17: https://www.strava.com/activities/27662875
