Coming from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas.

WWE.com is hyping the following story line points for tonight’s show:

    -Why has Demon Kane returned?
-Is Ryback hungry for a rematch against Kevin Owens?
-How will Charlotte celebrate her Divas Title victory?
-What might The Dudley Boyz have planned for The New Day?
-Will Cena’s newly won U.S. Title be on the line?

Assume we'll get an appearance from Taker with it being close enough to where he lives.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,881 ✭✭✭Pentecost

1.00am start is it lads and lasses? I'm off work for a bit so might watch it live until I get sick of the ads and/or fall asleep.

I think we'll have Rollins open as usual.

And maybe Owens and Cena will start with their open challenges again. Maybe even a debut?

I think they will make a huge deal out of Charlotte winning the title and that could open the show.

Given what they announced last night, I'd be shocked and disappointed if we don't get some sort of better start to the build to HIAC.

Who would you rather retired - Kane or Big Show?

I'd have to say Kane. At least Big Show has pulled some good matches out of the bag the last few years. Can't remember Kane's last good match.

have a Career Vs Career match that ends in a double countout :D

Sure they'd just have to have a rematch at Survivor Series if they had a draw in the first one. :D

I'd actually agree with Kane retiring over Big Show. Show can still put on a match, just as long as he isn't at the top of the card I'm more than happy to keep him around.

    Kane though. Just go away.

Oh Lord it's even worse than I thought. Kane has split personalities.

Are we going to see the win returned to the babyfaces here? Rollins vs. Cena should be decent.

Quick question been meaning to ask for a while, flair came out and cole called him a two time hall of famer, how can you be inducted twice? Surely once you're in, you're in.

Good segment but very strange. Everything Paige said was kind of right.

Heels aren't supposed to be right.

    Delivery was good though.

I think that she seems right to cynical smart fans that meet the profile of ourselves, but WWE are shooting for people who aren't as well up on how things work behind the scenes. It was clearly a heel promo anyway, and in the long term people will probably want to boo her.

Why would they team with Rusev when they could be teaming with Xavier Woods instead? Strange.

I hope we actually get a match this time though, and not what happened at last year's Rumble.

That played out the way that it did because The Big Show had hurt his hand I think, wasn't it?

I disagree with the notion heels aren't supposed to be right; I think the best heels always have elements of truth ingrained into their logic. Thats what makes them believable.

The issue is that the faces tend to be bland and unable to refute the heel's logic. Charlotte WAS being patronizing to Paige, and worse, neither Becky or Charlotte tried to answer back or counter Paige. By just letting one person rip into another without answer, it makes the faces look like idiots.

Anyway, that segment was otherwise brilliant imo; the Charlotte/Ric bit was a genuine moment, and the break up of the group was needed, so good work overall.

I hate hate HATE that we are getting Kane in the main event. Just ****ing despise the angle. Thought Kane was funny enough in his role, but just hate how its the biggest story on the card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,881 ✭✭✭Pentecost

I switched off more or less after Paige's "pipe bomb" and went to sleep. Sounds like I didn't miss an awful lot after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

I thought that the main event was pretty good last night. I hope we see more open challenges.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

The Kane stuff is mid card level.

Which is consistent with how badly Rollins reign was booked overall.

He should be booked to look intelligent and cunning a cross between an opportunist and the cerebral assassin so he would get real heat and it would be big deal when he is beaten, instead he is booked to look like an idiot.

In many ways it's a reign like Punk, impressive in the time it lasts but in no way the reign if an important or convincing champion. The doubt and intrigue about if he can win should be on the babyface side.

It's really bugging me that they took any momentum Cesaro had, and rammed it into Big Show's fist a few times.

But we gotta make Big Show strong so Lesnar can kill him in a match up nobody wants to see, instead of you knowing building up Cesaro and having him have even a semi competitive match against Brock.

Xavier playing Rusevs theme is one of my favorite moments of this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,559 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

So what did Cesaro do this time to annoy the higher ups, since it did seem like he was getting a push?

And speaking of push, are we still meant to believe that's a push up bra that Paige is wearing? Her rant was pretty excellent though it was pretty much just AJ's pipebomb again. More truth to it though at least AJ had the added benefit of not being on Total Divas. Caould we see a Nattie/Paige alliance? Do we need 4 separate groups?
