    I have recently signed up with nurse on call. I am working weekly.
    I am pregnant and hoping to go on mat leave next May.
    I have reached the criteria of paying PRSI for 39 weeks in the previous year etc and will be working from 24 weeks til my mat leave. So I have reached all the criteria?
    But the social welfare has said to contact my work and see what contribution is given for you for mat leav?
    I'm confused. I thought the government paid your mat leave once you reached these criteria? And does nurse on call even do mat leave? I do not want to ask them as it is too early.
    I am scared I will get no mat benefit I cannot afford that. Can someone please clarify this for me? In simple terms.

    Give them a call tomorrow 014715898. I found them very helpful and they always answer unlike other departments..

    I was just wondering how you got on with nurse on call re: the maternity benefit? Got an email from maternity section in donegal sayin have enough contributions in prsi but dont qualify as im an agency worker....
    Im also not working at moment as out sick from pregnancy.
