free program to make posters

    Looking for a free no ads /spyware program to make posters like quark express. Not for me but they want to make posters advertising events. Must be clean as i do not want to cause them any problems with ads/toolbars etc.

    GIMP do that?

    GIMP, Scribus, LibreOffice Draw - depending on what exactly you expect as I don't know quark express.
