    Hi,

Could anyone recommend a good way of finishing laminate flooring where it meets a wooden door saddle?

    Thanks

Take up the saddle and fit laminate under, if no laminate going in on other side, an offcut of laminate with a straight edge will fit the gap. Trim the door bottom by the laminate thickness.

    Thanks,

Is there any other way of doing this without having to take the door saddle up and trim the door? Are there any special type of edge trims etc?

You can replace the saddle board and use one with a rebated edge to cover the laminate. Any joinery will make it for you .
Alternatively some of the flooring people have strips that are thin and but up to the saddle board.

Easiest way if you are not going to lift the saddle. Comes in many different finishes to suit your floor of choice. Any builders providers / flooring stockist will have them. Come in 1 & 2mtr lengths.

Usually I cut the door saddle where it's half way under the door or else in line with the flooring side of the door frame. Just dril a line of holes inside your chosen line. Then chisel along the line the holes stop the grain tearing past the line. Floor up to within 5 mm of the saddle then use a similar cover slip to the one dodzy recommended. This works better with the thicker laminate floors 12 mm+ the trim finishes near flush with the top of saddle board.
