Well with no n.c.b it's hard to afford insurance even on the Yaris. As much as id love to be driving a 00 evo, it's not realistic.

    Anyone with better idea?

    Fair enough.
Have you a budget including tyres?

Are you thinking like superlites or minilites style?

OP, deep-dish alloys, while being able to bolt on, won't be correct for the car. They will have the wrong offset. That puts extra strain on the bearings, steering etc and also making the steering very heavy. They might also catch on the inner arches on full lock/compression. There are some proper minilight/superlight style wheels with the correct FWD offset. You'll also have to tell your insurance company.

OP, if it was me, I wouldn't bother with wasting money on "deep dish" wheels, sewerpipes/fartcans or any of that Halford tat. It only looks stupid, it's a waste of good money and you are only following the crowd. I would keep it subtle, use genuine Toyota alloys, colour code the exterior trim, no stickers, no sewerpipes and keep it clean. That would be a lot more different from the typical young male modified car driver

White or black wheels will look terrible imo. Silver wheels would look best. A set of genuine alloys would suit best tbh.

T sport wheels would be great but standard yaris alloys aren't bad either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Are they the ones you bought for your other halfs yaris?

No, but they're the same as the ones the brother got for his other halfs Yaris!

Not half as bad as black or white alloys on a gold car tbh. They actually look decent in the flesh. Not many aftermarket wheels suit the yaris imo.

I see your point... Can these alloys be bought from toyota new?

I don't know tbh. I'd imagine they'd cost a fair bit to buy new. A good secondhand set shouldn't be too hard to find. They aren't that rare, many later higher spec yaris's had them.

I didn't get any for hers in the end as we'll probably have to sell it to get something a little bigger

Ah I see, was there any copy made? Like clould I be cought out with a copy instead of the genuine alloy?

No. You can get them handy enough though as they were standard on Strata and Sol models.

You could also look at original alloys from the 2005> model as they're 15" instead of 14"

I see, Originally I was just going to go hell for leather with this car.. I.E. stickers, daft looking alloyes, CB arial and other crazy crap. But now after seen them O.E.M alloys they have grown on me.. So why reck the car with a Boy racer type flare to the car?. So I have decided I will Keep it standard and just keep it tidied up...
