Hi, want to get heating upgraded in house to include heating water and radiators separately using kerosene burner.

I want to get a timer fitted that can select heating water and radiators separately and room thermostats fitted upstairs and downstairs and trvs fitted to radiators.

    I was quoted 2000 euros-600 seai grant=1400.

    Sounds a lot to me.
Any thought on the costs of this type of work?

It is very difficult to accurately assess what exactly your cost may be without actually seeing the job.
Splitting an existing system to have seperate control over each of the zones can easily run into big money when floors need to be lifted and a lot of pipework has to be changed, plus the cost of the raw materials

It all depends on the system alright.
How many rads is there in the house and what sort of house is it? What age would the house be?
3 zone systems are the way to go. 2k does sound on the high side of things but not excessive. You know you don't have to have the trvs on the rads for a 3 zone to get the grant but they would make the system more efficient.

Its a detached house built 2004.
    11 radiators, 5 have TRV's already.
I was hoping to have maybe 2 zones, upstairs and downstairs and to have thermostats on each floor with a main timer that I can control water and radiators separately. At the moment, a lever on the water pipe has to be closed if only the water wants to be heated otherwise it heats the water for the radiators too.

your half way there already. There might be a bit of new piping needed for speratate the up stairs to the downstairs but nothing major.
I'd say you should get it done for 1400 to 1600 max. Is the hot press up stairs or down? And
What flooring Is down on the up stairs rooms?

hot press with hot water tank immersion downstairs and wood floor with carpet upstairs.
A negative waterpump is used to pump hot/cold water around house

Well that should be a fairly straight forward job I'd be looking for a second quotation . 1400 euro should get a job like that done. Seai will give 600 euro back and if your electric ireland customer they would give 296 on top of the seai grant!

Can you recommend anyone? Pm me if you do thanks

Also, do you have to be an electric ireland customer before you apply for the grant or does electric ireland reimburse you?

You don't have to be electric ireland customer before applying for the seai grants but you will have to charge to electric ireland to avail of their grants. Sometimes people are in contracts with other suppliers but they break the contract by paying a 70 euro fee as standard.
