    Hi,

I live in Moycullen and used a business based in Tuam called The Glassworks, they travelled and fitted two splash backs for me. I think they have a Facebook page.

I got a white splash back in my utility room and dark grey in my kitchen. Each splashback has glitter in it for a sparkly effect. One thing I will say is that if I did it again I woukd favour the lighter colour.

I have no connection to the business but can highly recommend the service

Thanks so much Elottois! I would be looking at a light grey and wanted a bit of a sparkly effect so that's great advice.

I will let you know how I get on.

Interested in this too and in the Galway area.

Would you mind giving a ball park figure of how much it cost and how long it took from when you ordered?

I don't live in your area, but I got one of these last year, and I got it in my local glass and mirrors shop. It wasn't something I'd previously known they would do, but I just chances ringing them to ask. They did a great job, and it was far cheaper than a specialist "glass splashback" company.

Hi Jim, rough idea of cost?

We paid €900 I think, for kitchen and utility. Our kitchen isn't massive, but not tiny either. I think it's about 19 ft in length, but there's an oven unit at one end and larder press at the other. It's along one straight wall, 3 sockets, one window. The cut outs etc, add to the cost. I can't remember how much they add tho.
I know the price I was getting else where were over €1500, and I think that might just have been for the kitchen, no utility. That company would have had to travel further, I know, but it was still a crazy difference in price.

We had the splashback fitted behind our range cooker only in the kitchen and then behind the width of cabinets in the utility room. There was 2 double socket cut outs in the utility room. I bought a bespoke glass art piece at the time too for my living room so all in I think it came in the region of €600 including the glass art. The splash backs could have been €420 if memory serves correctly. I think from measuring up to installation it took approximately 2 to 3 weeks

Can you fit these splashbacks over existing tiles?

I have miles of tiles to remove if and when the new kitchen is put in, and would rather not have to do that job!

    Thanks.
