Are the Irish taking the piss?

I'm sure you've all been looking for a decent car at some stage....preferably with an nct. There's not a lot of places to look for one, the 2 most common being donedeal and adverts.ie

Aint there a load of shyte for sale?

While the nct centres scrutinize the public's cars, failing them on items like the brake pedal rubber being worn! Haha, they're passing heaps of scrap for unscrupulous private dealers.

These dealers, (who claim to not be dealers), advertise their scrap heaps on the above mentioned sites, as PRIVATE sellers!! .....yes, you know who you are if your reading this.

The main usp they concentrate on is the nct cert, not the car. They make claims of the car being clean, well minded, and running GRAND! Haha.

You go along, spending money on fuel, and hours in time, to view a car that belongs in a grave. The first thing the seller says is, "here's the nct cert", like that's all that's important.
"it'll buff up grand", haha, yep,...even the dents which are on every panel!

BEWARE of these seller's! Adverts.ie is full of them, all selling under the guise of "private seller". The staff at adverts don't care, they've been informed, but choose to do nothing. They don't care if you get ripped off.

Check the seller's sold items on their profile, if there's loads of cars sold by them, they're a dealer, but don't want to admit that. Check out those sold cars....if they mostly seem to have recent nct's, then they likely have a "friend" at the nct centre.

If you don't believe that the staff at some nct centres are corrupt, then check out "the nct scam" on utube.

A car with a recent nct from a dealer does NOT mean it's grand. You have to inspect it thoroughly yourself.

I've viewed cars myself that should not have an nct, but they do. I've had cars fail the nct that are 100 times better than some for sale,....WITH A NEW NCT!

There's far too many scammers out there that just want your money, and couple that with dodgy nct staff, and you've got a nice little earner for crooks.

Dodgy dealers, dodgy nct staff, dodgy nct certs,......

    BUYER BEWARE!!!
