Got two different quotes for replacement of two front track rod ends, and re-do the tracking after of course; bit of a difference in the quotes.

How much should this cost me does anyone know?

    Car is an E60.

I would have thought around €120 to €150 with an independent. Are you being quoted for genuine BMW parts?

Quoted €170 and €290, oem parts; just the two ball joints and the tracking; not the arms or anything.

Shouldn't really be that level of difference... both quotes definitely for the same thing... both independent bmw garages... anyway, just want to get a few opinions from boards as to what it should cost. I mean whatever it costs, that's fine, I'll pay my way.

Sorry to bump this, anyone any idea of what this should cost?

when you say oem . are they actual bmw parts from a dealer or from the oem manufacturer. or just cheapest possible parts that fit

be aware a bmw needs 4 wheel alignment with camber . most tyre places dont do this .in my locality a standard alignment is 30 quid and a 4 wheel with camner is 80-90 .

if they are using genuine parts and doing a proper alignment then your quotes are fairly reasonable . id question the quote for 170 . they couldn't use original parts and do a proper alignment for that unless he is borderline free labour.

Track rod ends supplied and fitted would be around 80 each. 4 wheel lazer alignment is 40 so all in €200. I run a garage in Finglas if that's any help.
