Looking for a newer car ....advice needed

I currently drive an 04 1.4 golf , looking to change up to 09/10 but not sure what to look at . I have 2 kids 5 & 8 , do about 10-150 kms a year . My father wants me to look at octavias but I am afraid 1.6/1.9 would mean a big jump in costs . I was more thinking a 1.2 fab is maybe ....... Delighted to hear any advice

Octavia can be bought in petrol too, Fabia is much smaller than an Octavia or even your 04 Golf so make it fits you, the family and what travels with you ok. Maybe the Fabia estate would do the job?
