Hi folks. I living in a house in Meath for a few years now and have so far failed to take advantage of the sheds I inherited. I have four, two of which are a decent size. I'd like to take up a hobby to make good use of the space and maybe make a little money along the way.

Does anyone have any interesting ideas?

Could you rent out the sheds? Are they suitable for that?

Learn to work with wood, it's not too hard. Very rewarding and you can sell hand-made furniture for a good bit.

Bee keeping. It's something I'd love to do in the future, and starter packs aren't too expensive. Sell the honey, or use it to attract bears.

Thanks Kristopherus ... I want do do so thing with the sheds myself. I wouldn't fancy having folks on my property using my sheds whenever they want. But thanks for the suggestion :)

Hey Forty Seven, Thats a good idea. I'll deffo look into that. I'm thinking startup costs may be high with tools stock timber etc, but it would eventually be profitable?

Very innocent. Just normal mushrooms :o

I love mushrooms and have grown them myself, but they are smelly buggers, so a shed would be ideal!

Alternatively, fermentation is all the rage at the moment. Make saurkraut and kimchi in your shed ( again smelly!)

Thanks Cheshire Cat. Yep, its more of a pig cabin than a shed, it is a bit clean for mushroom growing. I'm afraid that I would never get rid of the smell. Its the compost that they grow in thats the issue right?
Saurkraut and Kimchi sound interesting though. Do you have any useful links to some info?
