Behind the scenes photos of Zig and Zag/Podge n Rodge puppeteers

    Isn't it strange that there has never been a behind the scenes program or even photographs showing how RTEs tv puppet creations are operated?

    It seems to be a uniquely Irish thing - there are plenty of videos and photos of the muppets being performed for example.

    I guess they don't want to shatter the illusion but to be fair any kids who watched zig and zag on the Den are in there 20s or 30s now and could cope with the shock.

    I guess its ultimately down to the puppeteers as to whether they are filmed while working. Maybe they value their privacy.

    Could be interesting though.
